We are an auxiliary fire brigade located in the North/West of Germany, established in 1902. Fire departments in Germany are organizations of the commune. On this site we want to provide you an insight into our fire department and the fire fighting system in Germany.

Incidents
As well as our firefighters fight many different types of fires, we are responsible for other emergencies like car accidents, rescues etc. In case of an emergency it is not unusual for the fire brigades to work with the police or ambulance.
Fire engine
Our fire engine called "TSFW"
TSF-W: That means a fire engine equipped with a pump called "TS" and a tank ("W": water) capacity of 500l/132 US gallons.
Crew
The fire engine "TSF-W" requires a crew of 6.

Nozzles
We have nozzles for the folowing hoses: B,C,D
For foam we have 3 different kinds of nozzles: heavy, middle and light
Fire Pump
Our fire engine is equipped with a fire pump called "TS" and has a minimal pump capacities of 800l or 211 US gallons per minute (GPM).
Breathing protection / radios
available : 4 Breathing protection, 3 portable (2m band) radios and one (4m band) radio as station installed in the fire engine.

Fire alarm system
A radio control station in our county alarms us by pagers. Its an audible alarm that provide an audible indication of a hazardous situation. Some pager have an audio / visual alarm combination. Also we have a fire siren with a high sound intensity.

Contests
Our contest team dressed in uniform
We have several contests in Germany to train the most important workflows.
Recruitment
Everybody, who has the age of 16 can join the fire department. For the younger ones we have special youth departments.
